Live Country Music and your local fairs are absolutely perfect together.
Yes,, our local fairs are all about, rides, the food, agricultural exhibits, demo derbies, tractor pulls...did we mention the food? But, when it comes down to it, seeing our favorite local Country bands is also part of that fair tradition here in the Capital Region.
The Washington County Fair will be no different when it kicks off this coming Monday, August 23rd, running through Sunday, August 29th. Two of our biggest and best local Country bands will be taking the stage next weekend in the Washington Country Fair Entertainment tent: Big Sky Country will perform Friday night at 7: 30 pm and Skeeter Creek will perform Saturday, also at 7: 30.
And if you are up for a little early week visit to the fair, you can join me and GNA there this Tuesday from Noon to 2pm.
You can see the fair's full entertainment schedule here, and the full fair schedule here.

LOOK: Here are the best lake towns to live in
Many of the included towns jump out at the casual observer as popular summer-rental spots--the Ozarks' Branson, Missouri, or Arizona's Lake Havasu--it might surprise you to dive deeper into some quality-of-life offerings beyond the beach and vacation homes. You'll likely pick up some knowledge from a wide range of Americana: one of the last remaining 1950s-style drive-ins in the Midwest; a Florida town that started as a Civil War veteran retirement area; an island boasting some of the country's top public schools and wealth-earners right in the middle of a lake between Seattle and Bellevue; and even a California town containing much more than Johnny Cash's prison blues.
